hello...

i want to rid of the torsion bars.
planning for the rs setup for the end of the year.
the car is a pure fun car, runs on the street for the fuel pump only, and often the times on track days.

does anybody had photos of reinforced fenders ?
i guess some welding beetwen inner fender and shock mount chassis frame
+ a renforcing upper bar.
look in the photo from a other car, about the solders points.

Hi, I have the Ron Simmons coilover ste up on my 3.0L GTV6, this set up was made to work along side the torsion bars not without them. If you use the colovers without torsion bars the car will not respond correctly. Put the lower front wishbone down one notch, this will lower the car down so you can adjust the ride hight using the coilovers.

also...car is welded...(only on front)
around front fenders and shock mounts.
i hope for a weigth loss of 30kg with tube welded A arms and RS coil overs.

So, what kind of spring rates are you planning on using up front when you ditch the torsion bars?

im planning on nothing, i follow the instructions.
the car is only for track days but not for race

RS racing suggest me 200 to 250 kg for front.
it sounds correct...

for v6 heavy gaming.

Ron says: 100 to 150kg with oem torsion bars
and 100 more without torsions bars.

I did once a estimate of the torsionbars. and they are about 30 Kg/cm calculated towards a springrate for the coil over.

If you weld any panels in the engine compartment be sure to use TIG welding. Arc welding will weaken the thin sheet metal in the area, defeating the purpose of the modification.
I have seen other photos where they didnt weld the whole seam, instead they alternated. A few inches welded, a few unwelded.
I am not sure if this is the correct aproach. I surmised that it was to keep from making the front end too strong and therefore dangerous in a crash.
