Hi everyone!

I need some experience advice about selection of 205/50-15" tyres...
My 75 Turbo is 90% daily car.
For now, my choice is Kumho Ecsta SPT (KU31), because of good balance between price and performance, but... i would like to hear some other opinion.

Mmm, balance between price and peformance.... :?

Well all depends on how you drive, you said 90% daily driver,
so not too soft a compound....how do you drive? Do you like to take corners fast....like me?

Or just putt around them?

Hi Garth!
Well... straight line or corners, i like to squeeze pedal to the metal!
This is normal daily drive, right?

I have the Kumho SPT on my 164QV, they are nice for a daily driver. Quiet, comfortable and quite grippy.

I have the Falken Azenis RT-615 on the 75. Not so nice for a daily driver.

Hi Zamani!

This is the ranking of German "Auto Bild" for 205/55-16":

(for recommendation)

1. CONTINENTAL PremiumContact 2
2. BRIDGESTONE Turanza ER 300
3. DUNLOP SP Sport Fastresponse
4. KUMHO Ecsta SPT KU 31

(good)

5. TOYO Proxes CF 1
6. PIRELLI P 7
7. VREDESTEIN Sportrac 3
8. GOODYEAR Excellence
9. MICHELIN Primacy HP
10. HANKOOK Ventus Prime K 105

(satisfactorily)

11. FULDA Carat Progresso

Interesting, right?

Get the SPT. Remember these are not the max performance tires. They are ok for occasional track use. But one thing they are good at is low road noise and ride comfort! These are very suitable for a mid to high end daily driver tires.

Also, in the US at least, Kumhos are much cheaper than Michelin, Pirelli or Conti.

I have a pair of KU31's on my 2.5 75. The other 2 are Kumho 712 which were replaced by the KU31. I bought them because they are one of the cheapest 'sports' tyres while still offering good performance. (1st year apprentices don't get paid enough :? ) I'm really happy with them, although I don't know anything else. Haven't tried them on the track yet.

For what it is worth, I am fairly loyal to Kumho. They are some of the least expensive tires you can buy for the street, and they still perform quite well.
I have not owned SPTs yet, but I exect to get them next time I need street tires.

Well I ordered a set of Kumho SPT for my 75. The Azenis and concrete roads just made it a little to rough for my liking. Some roads which I frequently use here in NorCal aren't that great. The smaller roads are nice, but the freeways are pretty bad. Lots of ripples, very abrupt joints or transitions, craters, etc.

Still have my Yoko Advan A-048 for track use.

I've run Pirelli, GF Goodrich which were terrible, falken which were fantastic and believe it or not Nankangs, which are pretty good in the wet to a certain degree lol, but for the price, very happy. I still havent had a tyre as good as the Pirelli dragos i once had, they were an amazing tyre.

So after running an expensive tyre, its good to see how the other cheaper brands stack up. Falken i think would be my choice when i get new rubber again.

And the BF Goodrich's that are still on my set of 15's will be destroyed.
In a fun way of course...?

Anyone tried the new Bridgestone RE001 yet ? Thinking about replacing my Goodyear Eagle F1's with these.Still upset that Goodyear don't manufacture the F1 in 205 X 50 X 15's...

The best choice for you is Tryal tire, it's cheap and plastic and you can buy it on each corner in your town, and you will drift all over Novi Sad, you have many agriculture fields arround road and you have no fear for your "turbo 75" :D :D :D :D :D
