My MS doesn't see RPM's on step 56

Yesterday I made the test on step 56 and saw on the Realtime Display that it all went right but the RPM's. It read zero RPMs all the time, although I twisted both RPM knobs for a while. The only modifications I'd already done at this point are: STEP 47: Installed a 1K5 resistor STEP 48: Installed a ...

I'm still with the GTV6's speedo and the Milano's sender combination problem. I tested my speedo yesterday at the laboratory with an oscilloscope and a signal generator. I fed the speedo with 12V DC and a sinoidal signal with 12V (peak-to-peak) and trying different frequencies, I got the following r...

Does anybody have pics of such installation on a V6?

Enzo, I see that it's easier with the V3 board, but what about using the V2.2 one? You'll need an EDIS-6 module, a 36-1 wheel and sensor. Anything else? Is that simple?

Mats, do you mean that in Motronic equipped engines, you have to get rid of the original crank sensors and install an EDIS trigger instead?

MS-EDIS recipe

Ok, guys, I know there are a lot of posts about using MS and EDIS to control ignition, but it's a mess for me. Let's start from the beginning. When you're running your MS and want to control the ignition, then you get an EDIS-6 module and...don't know much. One thing. On an L-jetronic->MS conversion...

Ok, I'll put the 1K5 and see if it gets too hot.

As I've been told that I can fit any diode over 400v, I'll put the 1N4007 and see...

Ok, I found the post. Thanks

Now I have more problems...

I couldn't find a 1K6 resistor for R10, the closest was 1K5 ohm. Is it enough?
I couldn't find 1N4004 either, I just got a 1N4007. Is there a problem with fitting this?

Modifications required on L-Jet=>MS conversion

Hi all, I've read that some modifications are required to install the MS I V2.2 on my L-Jet GTV6. I've been told that I must do the following: 1. Substitute R10 and install a 1K6 ohm resistor instead. 2. Substitute the 1N4001 diode and install a 1N4004 instead. 3. Substitute C12 (0.001 uF) for a 0.0...

Thanks David!!

I guess I'm going to read carefully this thread for my next 164's 3.0 rebuild/conversion!!

Maybe you're making a new .doc with the whole process including MS and spark?? :D

Good Luck mate!

Thanks, X-rad, but these guys are too far...

I know a guy here who reaconditions injectors. He did with my GTV6 injectors and he's quite good and a serious guy

Fletch, we've done both 3.0 conversions from a 164 (motronic) and 75/milano (L-Jetronic). The Motronic one runs smoother, but the 75's L-Jetronic engine swap is a much easier conversion.
