Re: 166 24v into 116 GTV
@ Davo, could you update your links? The pics aren't showing. I'm little bit confused as to the flywheel installation on the 24V. I have lightened GTV6 2,5L flywheel that I originally wanted to mate with the 3.0 24V. I know Alfa V6's are externally balanced. Now where the confusion starts: Some peop...

Hmm interesting, here's my part. There's only metal gasket sealing it against the block.
What year is your engine? Mine's 2004.

Re: 166 24v into 116 GTV
Hi Kevin,
No grooves or whatsoever on the adapter plate. The stock part is also flat, so I figured it should work. I'm keeping the stock gasket as well, and as you mentioned, I'll probably use a thin coat of silicone to keep everything tight.

Re: 166 24v into 116 GTV
OIL FILTER. Tapping the block is probably the best way to go. But if one's doesn't have proper tools or conditions to do so, an non-invasive option is possible. I've used original metal gasket that sits between the block and axle support/oil filter assembly on fwd cars, as a template to make an adap...

Re: 166 24v into 116 GTV
Since I have just about finished prepping my 24V to drop into GTV6, here're a couple of pictures of things I've done a little bit differently. SUMP. While the sandwich plate is a nice simple solution, giving away 20mm of ground clearance, was a turn off for me. After some measuring and tinkering, it...

Early vs. late oil pump drive gears
I have a late ('95) 3.0 motor from 164 super, that I wanna drop into my GTV6 while retaining L-jet (think in terms of a weekend swap deal). Thing is I remember (or I'm actually making things up now) hearing about a chap who wanted to do the same with 164 QV engine, but it came out that the gearing o...

24V => 12V crankshaft interchangability
A friend in his 75 3.0 12V track car needs a new crankshaft. Since our shaft cannot be grinded, and availability of nos shafts is null, question is will 24v crankshaft fit in 12V? I know there are some dimensional differences around flywhell flange area what about the rest?
