Francois,
The car disk for the GTV6 has a lot of information including some drawings. I think you will still have to do a lot of engineering but it is all there.
You might get better results with Greg Gordon's set-up though.

Losing the pedal after the brakes heat up sounds like the fluid is old and has taken on moisture. A professional mechanic should be using new, right out of a just opened bottle, fluid. He should also have a preferred method of bleeding the brakes that he is comfortable with. I can't imagine a scenar...

Porting and Polishing
I know you guys are trying to find out what can be done and I am not trying to hijack your thread. However, at one time Sperry Valve Works in the US was the place to go for 4 cyl head work and was also reputed to be good with the V6. Assuming they did a lot of heads and have a flow bench they should...

JB Weld
Head Corrosion is common on classic SAAB's (84-93 900's for example). The factory fix is to use a material to fill these pits with what appeared to me to be JB weld. I have successfully repaired several heads by filling with JB weld and carefully sanding it normal to the rest of the head and as smoo...

This isn't the final advice you need to proceed. My opinion is that you now need to replace the tensoner and I would do the belt while you are at it. Getting the engine back to zero will be challenging and you will have to withdraw the hubs from the drive sprocket to fully release the cams and seat ...

Fuel Pump
You are correct on both counts. The pump will run and if you open the fuel injection manifold, fuel will be pumped out. You can test the wiring with a 12v bulb, a parking lamp bulb perhaps. You can also test the pump by getting 12 volts directly to it. I would disconect the (+) side if you try this ...

Switch as the culprit?
I have tackled almost every ground in the car over the last two years. I clean them with a file and/or sandpaper and then reassemble with either dielectric grease or silicone sealer if they see weather. Regardless, I did hit the bundle near the tail lights at the same time I soldered the board and i...

Tail Light Problems
My rear turn signals are not working correctly. Selecting left results in a very high speed blinking. Stepping on the brake pedal with left selected results in the signal going out completely. Selecting right brings a correct flash rate that is uneffected by the brakes. The emergency flashers work c...

Combi Relay
The most frustrating problem I have had to date concerned a failing Combi relay. The car would die and not restart. The relay AND everything else would check out fine whenever I tested it which was rarely immediately after the car would die. Finally I had to have it towed one day and found the relay...

Alfetta Heater Valve
Ingegnere, Good information. One concern is the kink visible in the hose at the bottom of its loop. It will eventually fail there although it may be years in the future. Inserting a spring inside the hose would probably stop this as would a larger loop. Your last photo shows the brass colored ring t...

Stainless Sleeve for E-brake mechanism
MD, I went back and read your post again, more carefully and you do indeed refer to the ebrake part. I agree with you completely and will be sure to address that part when I rebuild mine later this year. My post wasn't really addressing you though. A few month ago I learned that Stainless Steel Brak...

Rebuilding Rear Calipers
The correct rebuild for this application is a stainless steel piston not a stainless steel sleeve. The piston seal is carried in the cylinder bore and the part that bears against it is the one that must stay intact to prevent seal failure. Andy Kress @ perfomatech carries rebuilds that should work a...

Heater Valve to A/C link
There is a switch located on the bracket that the control cable attaches to. Moving the temprature control to full cold switches the compressor on.

Brakes like a champ
I flush brake fluid yearly on my street cars to preserve the calipers. A yearly change minimizes moisture related corrosion which is important in light of the cost of replacement calipers. My Alfa sees some track time and so gets a flush more often, before each event. I am currently using ATE fluid ...
