Re: Alu transaxle

I'm with Maurizio on this one. Just because you can weld alu doesn't mean you can properly design a stressed member in the suspension system.. Those shock absorber/coil over mounts look very strange and the cuts in the pieces that goes along the car looks totally crazy. The thing about FEM is that u...

Re: Mats Strandberg (SWE)

Exactly.

A lot of driving, not so much wrenching and definetly no rust repairs... 8)
The wrenching to be done is just for tuning. Well, except for the initial 'zeroing' of the car.

Ring tripplanned for this summer, we should meet up and go back to that Italian resturant. :D

Re: Mats Strandberg (SWE)

There were a lot of posts just before I posted what kind of car it was but after there were only your post... Are there any bolt-on stuff for the N52? I know about the intake and headers/manifold trick for the M52 but I'm not sure if they fit the N52 as well? Would love some extra cheapish hor...

Re: Mats Strandberg (SWE)

Over here it has 258Hp (N52). I'm looking to do a chassis overhaul, subframe bushings and such. Diff bushings are pretty shot too. Need to go through all the bushings and joints and replace if necessary really. A lot of bushings and control arms can be replaced with M3 eqivalent parts. The Ring isn'...

Re: Alfetta GTV Turbo - Race Car. Died Dec 1 -14. :(

Ok, so if you haven't heard already my whole workshop and everything in it was destroyed in a HUGE fire Dec 1 last year. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING in there was destroyed except for one thing, my Turbo manifold. A friends Lotus Elise was just gone, literally nothing left. So there won't be an...

Re: Mats Strandberg (SWE)

I'm a Berlina kind of guy, you should know that by now. The car is actually black once out in the sun, it's one of those weird BMW Individual paints. It's loaded with Individual stuff like a lion yellow Dakota leather interior, Steering wheel/gearbox knob/handbrake handle, interior trim color...

Well...
I'm already knee deep in another project, but it's not Alfetta based so I'm not sure it's fitting to display here.

Re: Mats Strandberg (SWE)

Thanks.

I managed to salvage the Turbo manifold (the turbo was attached but it's just scrap) but I have nothing to use it on. Maybe I'll save it as a trophy or maybe I'll sell it for the right price.
At least it's throughly tested...

Re: Another big-brake kit for 15"wheels.

General OEM design principle on nuts/bolts design, two full threads visible outside of the nut. So full nut engagement plus two full turns.

Re: Clutch slipping when car gets warm

One time I forgot to reinstall the heat shield for the brake master cyl on my 75 T, after a while when the brake master had heated up enough the brakes were dragging, badly. Stopped and poured water on it and reinstalled the heat shield and it never happened again. So check your clutch master for he...
