I hate to smell fumes from clunkers or poorly tuned cars. Just make the car pass the sniffer test and do away with the visual crap. I feel the same way. I think I would fail visual tests for my ARC or simply the fact that there are things obviously missing from my engine compartment. At least my fr...

Thanks x-rad, I will go with 2 gauge then. About location, should the battery be located toward the front of the trunk (nearest the passenger compartment), or should it go full rear to get the greatest shift in balance? I have not weighed my car, but with the battery relocation I think might be able...

I have been pondering a move to San Francisco California for a while now. The reason I have not done it is because I dont want to deal with having my car there. If you want to be an enthusiast in Cali, you need to have a pre 72 model in order to be emissions exempt. I am afraid to go there, even tho...

Im not talking about the US, I expect to see the BS cruising around here in Mexico any minute. I am in Mexico where the tires are bald. The assessment of the Beetle vs Atos crash was based on the Atos cab driver (maybe no seat belt, hadnt thought of that) vs the drunk Beetle driver. Not a scientific...

I definitely plan to get a new radiator. I am not sure what I will go with though. TD would be nice, one of the expensive custom ones would be nice. The cheap/huge GM ones would work, but maybe it would be better to spend more on a custom one and not have more radiator than I need, but that is anoth...

Nice link Mats, knowing that the Atos gets three stars, I think I might have to take one for a test drive... The subjective opinion I refered to was based on a crash involving an Atos and a Beetle. My friend said that the Beetle got the best of it, but it was a crash involving a drunk in the beetle ...

battery relocation on 75

I want to move the battery to the trunk on my V6 Milano. I have the dash loose at the moment and I figure this is a good time to run the wire through the firewall. My first question is about the wire. I have some Stinger brand four gauge wire that was used in a stereo in a previous car, but I worry ...

I currently have the dash half way out due to the fact that I am going to remove the brake pedal box. I started looking at the ventilation/heater unit, since I am down there. I have been talking about removing it for some time now. I loosened the two screws that are way up under the dash, but now I ...

doesn't BS stand for Bull Sh*t?? Last I checked... I expect to see the BS cruising around here in Mexico any minute. People here love to save a few pennies on safety. The market for the BS is right here. Right now the most common car on the streets here is the Hyundai Atos. I would seriously bet th...

I vote for front speakers only. To keep budget under control, buy only one set of speakers. Gives better imaging too. I dont recomend installing the tweeters far away from the woofer on components. If the woofer is going in the door, I would put the tweeter there too. Also, an amp is a good idea. Be...

I would guess that a small ammount of dynamat would kill more resonance than a large ammount of blanket. dynamat is sort of heavy, but if you didnt go crazy it could most likely weigh about the same as the stock piece. I dont know if you would like the look though. edit: I just looked at my milano a...

My car has a black engine bay due to the fact that black is the original color. I have had problems when nuts and tools fell in.
If the motor comes out, I would like to paint it white or grey.

For what it is worth, I am fairly loyal to Kumho. They are some of the least expensive tires you can buy for the street, and they still perform quite well.
I have not owned SPTs yet, but I exect to get them next time I need street tires.

Murry,
Could you tell me more about your external fuel pump relay? I am wondering if it is simply a relay run off of the ignition or if it is one that shuts down when the motor isnt rotating?
thanks,
James
