Re: GTV6, ex Zender, turning into a racer
After sitting for 3 years nex to the car, the engine was put into the car. I've run pumps for a minute to rid fuel system of any air and, atfer that the engine fired right away, like it was nothing. Revs fine and idles too, still need to check timing and clearances. Since I'm recently driving new tu...

Re: GTV6, ex Zender, turning into a racer
Pathetic progress but progress anyway. Really I had little time to do anything with the car this year, and it's been past 3 weeks when I actually started to work on her. So after much debate, I've decided to go with 28mm drop spindles: http://img717.imageshack.us/img717/8306/dsc00858d.jpg http://img...

Alfahaka good thinking but instead of fiddling with alfetta clutch on a v6 transaxle, I would use v6 tranny and clutch assembly. Just eplace the donut fork with Alfetta unit.

Re: The Orange Cab -MD's New Racer
Hey Remco and others interested, I just talked to a buddy of mine who is a huge classic opel freak, and he confirmed that holden gemini, and kadett c share the same platform suspension etc. I also had a look personally at the lower joint - the pressed part is plenty enough, after all that's what MD ...

Re: The Orange Cab -MD's New Racer
It appears kadett c and gemini and dozen others are basically the same cars all based on GM-t platform. Reason I was asking is if this solution works (in your case it is) then why reinvent the wheel? Of course if it's ok with you sharing your tinkering. This is kadett c balljoint. Does this ring any...

Re: The Orange Cab -MD's New Racer
Reading this topic has given me some thought regarding LCA mods. If I'm to build a well handling race gtv6 is it imperative to either go dropped spindles or upside down ball joint? With race ground clearance, the stock LCA points awfully upward, and I can't see that of any benefit to geometry. I hav...

Re: xrad's gtv6
What are you gonna do to the rear end of the car? Without a bumper it looks quite silly, there is a strange lip sticking out behind it ( most of the times also quite rusty there), right where the boot-floor meets the rearpanel. I actually kinda like it, you can see suspension, trans, etc. Makes mos...

Re: Some more brake upgrades for the 116-Barry
Just out of simple curiosity, has anyone tried 166 calipers and rotors on a 116? A bit bigger than Gtv / Gta rotor (310mm) but should still fit in 16". Not to mention the prices...
