Re: No longer a ''budget" race GTV

I'm with Mats 100% A general problem is that when you made the car stiff enough not to roll on dry it will be really too hard on wet and seriusly tricky to drive. We had rain when we were testing KT's 75 and it was between really slow and impossible. As we have rain here in ~25% of the races it alre...

Works fine with FF as far as I can tell.

Re: Alfa 164 Q4, gearbox & diff quality info..?

I never opened the rear diff. Neither do I know how much torque it can handle. Most likely enough. It wont get that much punishment anyway as the front axle always rotates too. We have been wondering why the Q4 has absolutely no understeer. It has light oversteer all the time and from standing still...

Re: Alfa 164 Q4, gearbox & diff quality info..?

I also have 5 of these boxes of which 2 are spares.....

There's a new for sale on evilaby since ages. Asking 1.5 k€ or so. More than I paid for my two last Q4's together.

Re: Alfa 164 Q4, gearbox & diff quality info..?

Well, first it isn't a ZF but Getrag. There are good and bad news. Good is that it is one of the strongest passenger car gearboxes available. This from my box mexhanic who's doing rally car boxes for living. 500 Nm is no problem and with some prepping easily > 1kNm. A small problem is that there are...

Re: TS racing cam advice! What to buy?

Now that's silly of you. You should easily understand quite a lot of Norwegian if you try hard. Russian we cannot even understand the letters.

With a lot of effort I can understand enough Dutch to check the 164 register now and then

Re: Offset Question

The first will be tight. I know they fit mine but then it's somewhat modified. No room for adaptors of course.

The rest will fit and with the adaptor thickness you can tune them just where you want them.

I guess the gearbox in non-Alfa.
However, I couldn't care less. If making a good car requires some foreign parts I'm all for it.

Re: Pricing for Alfetta Race Car.

You don't have to look very long at the photos to see the stock frame is raplaced with tube frame at least in the front.

Most likely the exhaust is like it is because thee's no space elsewhere.

The right price is very hard to estimate. I won't even try.

I have some photos. Hope they help. If not I'm not likely to get any new in a while as you can see in the latest one.

Re: Inlet Manifold Design

Are you sure the 968 has variable length intake?
I don't think so but I might be wrong.
It has variable cam timing though which can give the effect you describe.
Also my 944S had the same feeling when the runners hit their resonance frequency. The S2 didn't have a clear punch.

Re: Inlet Manifold Design

When you say 15 hp I wonder how it is measured in both cases and how the measurements are normalized to same level/standard?
