Update, I now live in Porto, Portugal. Are they any users of this site in this area. I have seen loads of classic alfas here. It is classic car heaven compared to Valencia! I saw a SZ on the way home from work yesterday. Many more people have classic cars here.

I'm just putting one on to replace the factory heat/sound shield which is falling off and disintegrating, making my beautiful engine and pretty red silicon hoses all dirty! I guess it will do the same job as the original, quieten down the top end engine noise and protect the paintwork from heat. It ...

Fitting Dynamat Hoodliner to a GTV6

I've just bought a dynamat hoodliner pack to replace my disintegrating bonnet (hood) insulation. Before I start cleaning, measuring, cutting and sticking, I just want to know if anyone else has done the same thing and if there is anything I should look out for...

Thanks...

When I drove through Hungary, the roads were fantastic, if very heavily policed. Very safe, law abiding drivers too.Mind you I only drove from Sopron to the Romanian border on the main roads.

You drove your GTV6 in Transylavania? Wow, I remember driving a minibus from Oradea to Bacau through Transylvania in 1995. I was very glad I wasn't driving my own car. The out of town roads were mostly ok but the cities were very bumpy especially Oradea. Beautiful country though!

Go for it! Its the same basic engine and AR did it in SA. They should have done it in the rest of the world too! I will probably do this when my 2.5 goes bang. If you find it too torquey, you can always bang some hot cams on it!

I recently read an ad for a GTV6 with a Harvey Bailey suspension kit. He's got a good reputation in the UK as a suspension guru but I've never heard about his 116 chassis kit. Anyone out their tried it or got any opinions?

Fantastic video! What a track too! Fans of Top Gear in the UK will understand the need for power ballads during high speed track action. Puts my 10 laps of Ricardo Tormo into perspective! I even got passed by two 145 twinsparks! Will show this vid to all my alfasceptic friends!

Could be the double relay on the rh inner wing. I had the exact same problem on my car and solved it by replacing this relay. A quick fix could be to clean it with switch cleaner and see if that helps. It won't last long though!...

Good luck Lucio, keep us all posted on this, I will also do the conversion if I can get the parts and its not too hard/expensive to fit. With air-con these cars will be perfect in summer as well as winter! Next time I go to Le Mans I want air-con.

Fuel Smell in the boot (trunk)

I've begun to notice a fuel smell in the boot of my '84 GTV6. Last time I had this it was because the fuel tank was rusted out but this one seems ok. Its worse after its been left standing a while. I've checked the hose clips on the filler neck and the overflow seems ok. Is there anything else obvio...
