Hi guys,
Glad to see some new ideas on this post recently.
I have just recently picked up a cheap 166 with 170k on the clock and will look at putting it in my 87 GTV6.
Might have missed it but what is everyone using for ECU's?
Thanks
Karl

I would hate to see this wealth of knowledge (old Posts and Members to ask questions) lost.
I almost had a little cry the other day when the site wouldn't load.
Glad to help with a donation as keeping this site going keep my car running!
Keep up the great work

Re: Adjusting L-Jet mixture with the Black Box
Awesome work Greg! Im just wondering if you could give me some more info on how it wires in without giving away too many secrets. My GTV6 has no o2 sensor, larger cams, better (euro style) exhaust and k&n filter. Would it still work with mine ok? Was looking at installing a o2 sensor and gauge t...

Finally the time has come.
The build is just about to start.
I will take photos and do a write up for all of those that are interested.

Re: GTV6 Electric windows not working
it should be fairly easy to troubleshoot.
check that you have 12v at the fuses.
then pull the switches from the centre console and check for 12v and correct operation.
if all that is ok, check the connections inside the door.
good luck.

Hi Guys,
Sorry to dredge up an old post, but has anyone had any trouble using the BMW part?
I just thought you guys may have some feedback after a couple of years of use.
Any thoughts as i am due for a replacement and centerline don't have any and IAP are $182
Thanks

Re: swapping flywheel and pully between 2.5l 12v engines
Thanks guys.
I know it is not the right thing to do, but the spare engine was cheaper than a set of head gaskets so I will give it a crack.
If it was out of balance, what should I look or listen for?
Or will I only know when it throws a rod?
Thanks Again

Re: swapping flywheel and pully between 2.5l 12v engines
You are right about not racing it.
Its just a road/touring engine to keep it going while the other engine gets a full overhaul and upgrade.
The overhaul may take a year due to available funds and my engine builder doing it when he has spare time.

swapping flywheel and pully between 2.5l 12v engines
Hi guys quick question. I have been searching, but I cant find the answer. I have a head gasket problem after 350,000kms and wanted to swap out the original 12v 2.5l with a spare good 12v 2.5l that I have in the shed, its only done 200,000kms. The only problem is I only have one flywheel and one fro...

Re: Run Tires Opposit Direction of Stated Rotation ?
just had a rethink and a quick look on the net and found this.
If a directional tyre is fitted the wrong way round, the tyre won't be dangerous, but you won't gain any of the benefits of it's design.

Re: Run Tires Opposit Direction of Stated Rotation ?
Are these slicks? I have heard that the direction on slicks relate to how the rubber is laid down. All I know is that if you run them this way they could have wear problems, but this would not be a problem if they are on their last legs anyway. I could be wrong, if i am please correct me rather than...

Re: What battery for a GTV6 with 3.0ltr engine from alfa 75
I have an optima gel cell battery in my GTV6.
others may recommend different types/brands, but mine works well.
