Re: Niclas Rosengren (Sweden)

Please notice that Niclas has moved the rear springs. This changes the MR and thus the situation is far from standard. What might be good for a stock car doesn't apply anymore.

Re: Niclas Rosengren (Sweden)

Also do all Swedes bend their DeDion's in the middle?
Any sensible 116 driver does it

Re: Mats Strandberg (SWE)

I like the multicolor headers but for the final one I'd suggest to make them with the colors of the italian flag! It would certainly be faster that way

Re: Niclas Rosengren (Sweden)

Congratulations Niclas!

Nice to see a new and good design. Quite genious way to get a light and adjustable UCA with lots of space for the spring.

Re: Sprint/Trackday car advice

Yep. You. Mazda, Datsun, Nissan, Toyota, whatever. I cannot remember all them japs. The ones on the race car anyway. (Don't get me wrong. Absolutely nothing against the brake mod. On the contrary) The GTV. I quote MD: "Now for my GTV6 164 front rotors and calipers." And 164 calipers are fl...

Re: Sprint/Trackday car advice

hhmmm.... to say anything about the mazda brakes it would require knowing how they designed them. maybe the piston sizes are planned to be driven without a pressure limiter. To the GTV. Did you replace the 2 piston brembos with 164 floating calipers??? Holy sheit! And if you really did and it's not ...

Re: Sprint/Trackday car advice

1) The easiest way is actually to reduce the rear brake pressure less than original. 2) A track prepared car will use relatively less rear brakes than stock. WHY? 3) MD - your brake bias statement will confuse people. As all parts are chenged it it totally irrelevant. What does zero brake bias pract...

Re: driveshaft conversion

My excel says the prop shaft weighs 10 kg = 22 lb (TS shaft that is)
A third of it is about 7 lb so sounds right to me.

You can buy 2-component polyurethane in different hardnesses. It's a pourable liquid that hardens in a while.

Re: 3 liter, 24 valve engine project

You can still feel lucky.
The engine I bought was slightly worse. Previous owner had forgotten a rag in the water jacket. Found it out as the water came into the oil. Heads were torqued to 60 Nm. He didn't spare on the assembly sand either

Re: Mats Strandberg (SWE)

It's not a slot for a gurney. It is one. A gurney basically always makes sense. In race cars anyway. It's a good Benzing profile. Don't remember which. Lift is measured to 40 kg with 1500 mm wing at 160 km/h. Another team measured 100 kg with 2 m wing at 200 km/h. Only downside is that it is very he...

Re: Adjustable cam gears

That's right. They are already adjustable by knocking them out and moving. Doing this accurately without getting to the cams (remove intake and cam covers) seems guite impossible. And then they also don't have any markings in case you could hold them steady in place while knocking. I'll either get t...

Re: Adjustable cam gears

Time saving is my main idea.
Of course the engine weight will be reduced by 2 kg. 1.5 from the lighter (rotating) wheels and 0.5 from not being able to cover the nice wheels with the uggly cover

Re: Adjustable cam gears

I can get them from a local machine shop who has done them for several other cars aleady. Examples of what they have: http://tbc-shop.com/catalog/index.php/cPath/24 The cams are custom made. I don't recall the profile. 10.9 lift and duration 240 deg at 1 mm. Should pass emissions and have given >100...

Re: It's not an Alfa or is it?

After having 2 I can say they are nice. Not the same Alfa feeling. Already the fact that everyhting is working is odd. Quality is from a different planet. As cruisers very nice, quiet cars. Notice about models: 2.5 NA - quite boring engine. These versions are cheap and not very attractive 2.5 16V (S...
