Jim, WHAT Tha? That looks great, what does it actually do? I'm sure we could time-travel with that. OK, only kidding, are you saying it's for checking existing spring tension or substituting differest springs to achieve different curves? I've made some home-made tools/testing equipment but your leav...

Bill,

If 28 is the 12V switched supply, 29 is the ground for the fuel pump relay and needs to be earthed, although I thought they were the other way round when I did my GTV6 MS install as per Peter Florance's L-Jet to MS pinout.

Yes, 41mm is correct and the 164 3.0L is the same as the 2.5.

Ben, Same thing happened to me some time ago. It was actually the rubber packed joint at the bottom of the steering column. The rubber had parted from the steel casing. Another clue was the horn stopped working when the earth link crossing the rubber joint was broken. Put it on full lock and if it k...

Steve.
I don't think the main sump can be removed with the motor in place. I would also be concerned about the flywheel seal and the rear main bearing block seals.

Greg,
Re the classifeds, It looks like you have to register separately from the forum. I used the same name and PW and it works OK.

Lets put all the $$$$ sales issues there and keep the main forum for discussion.

Michael, That thick wire certainly looks dodgy and by cutting strands of wire defeats the purpose of using heavier guage wire. All the wires I used passed through as a "bundle". I have had no problems with wires getting hot., etc. I agree, the circuit board tracks are much thinner than eve...

Steve, The best you can get from the 2.5 plenum is 39-40mm, which I still think is enough for a stock 3.0L. The "flange" inside the original 3.0L runners is actually close to the ID of the 2.5 reamed out runners. I used a good quality USA straight edge "reamer", not sure what the...

Sam,

If I had a choice that's all I'd do is work on GTV6's, but the bills have to be paid.

When I win Lotto, that's what I'll do. HaHa :D

Seb, No Probs, my 164 FWD 3.0L had the Dizzy on the head, but only needed the oil pump changing due to the screw and washer on the drive shaft. By the way, while you have the head off the 3.0L, what markings are on the cam shafts. I'm trying to find out what's in mine with markings as per the follow...

Jacob, I tackled the 3.0L conversion and the MS install at the same time. I've never soldered a circuit board in my life (50+ years) before MS but found it all straight forward, The tunability via laptop and the great help from the likes of Peter Webb convinced me I made the right decision. But each...

Seb,

A bit late now, but are you sure that timing gear needed changing?

What year and model did the 164 motor come out of.

Seb,

Use the puller and give it a slight tap. Watch it though they sometimes come off with pop.

One of the holes where the top FWD engine mount is fixed goes right through to the tappet area. You'll have to plug it with a hex screw or a short bolt and washer.
