Re: xrad's gtv6
Is it worn or just full of old dried up grease mixed with rust? Disassemble, clean, lube, reassemble, and see if it returns to normal or if there is permanent damage...

Re: Pricing for Alfetta Race Car.
This is a full race car GT3. but was not very competitive nationally. Are you planning to go racing, nationally? What is you plans and objectives with this car? Not only does it require LOTS of $ to be nationally competitive, it also requires LOTS of talent+skills, which may be even harder to come ...

Re: Dipsticks and conversions
Anyhow, I don't see the problem even though it is an excellent issue to to discuss. My approach would be to use the factory spec for the engine capacity, fill the sump, run the motor, let the oil settle o/night and mark the oil level on the stick with a saw cut as the new oil level mark. With all kind...

Re: Dipsticks and conversions
Related to that: The length of the dipstick tube mounted to the block also influences how deep the dipstick sits. I saw this when putting the 12v 164S engine in my Milano race car. Another issue is that the engine sits level in the transaxle cars, but at an angle in the front-wheel drive cars (if I ...

Hey Kevin, kevin wrote: The glenwood twin turbo was 370kw and still vertical at .5 bar. (I reported 450kw but that was on another dyno at higher boost).
What gearbox is that car running? Front mounted?

Re: middle guibo
Jes, Is it possible to do a 1 piece aluminium driveshaft from your shop which did the CF stuff? They are specialized in composite materials and do carbon fiber driveshafts for all kinds of applications - not just cars. I don't believe they do metal shafts. Talk to Richard. He can explain to you wha...

Re: middle guibo
I think there would be no problems to use on standrd prop on road car as the box mounts and rear coupling will take up the extra 5mm. Not sure if I understand correctly, but forcing the transaxle back 5 mm with the driveshaft (putting pressure on it), or distort the rear coupling by 5 mm does not s...

Re: GTV6 Zender
I can't quite visualize where the tubes going forward from the middle of the hoop (up under the ceiling) go to. It could look like they run diagonally across to the front corners, or maybe there is a bend? If it goes diagonally you may have an issue with helmet clearance (if you are somewhat tall), ...

Re: Whats the worst JOB on a transaxle ????
On Milano/75 V6 you can get the rack out without removing engine (it does need engine mounts loosened and lifted with a jack, but doable) - done it multiple times. Doesn't that apply to the GTV6 as well?

Re: Whats the worst JOB on a transaxle ????
rust, Rust, RUST did I mention RUST Yes, I agree. Rust is the worst job. Totally agree. That's why I moved to SoCal from Denmark after having a 75 rust so fast Alfa Romeo had to replace front and rear sheet metal of car under factory 6 year rust warranty  No need to say any SoCal 75/Milano is...

Re: driveshaft conversion
Yes, correct. For my setup the shifter has to be relocated into cabin, but that in itself is beneficial since you get a more direct linkage to the transmission - single straight rod from shifter to input selector of transmission. I'm still to get my pieces together... "New" house and assoc...

'imobilizer' is king's english for 'car alarm/ ignition cutout' Some refinement for the royals... In some places immobilizer was/is a term for a manufacturer option where the ignition key contains a micro chip that the car would ID at start (RF) and not start without - a bit more advanced th...

Your car has no immobilizer unless you or PO added it - I bet it hasn't.

Re: Supercharged 12V/Stratos copy/engine tech type stuff
Mats has a good point. Check plug wires. On a 24v with coil packs (not on plugs) in a 75, I had rough running that seemed most notable at low RPM, and then it would come alive. Almost by chance I noticed an intermittent tiny spark from a plug wire to the valve cover. The plug wire did not look damag...
