Lambda readings

I'm running a 3.0 12v in my GTV6. Last summer I ran it with the 2.5 ecu and afm. A while back I came across a BMW 635 ecu and 528 afm. I have a nb-lambda connected directly to a voltmeter but I'm not sure what readings to expect. On WOT I get 0.88 which feels on the safe side ;) What I'm more concer...

Ok, Murray, I will look into your thread. I guess I could find one or another Volvo in the local scrapyards ;) What I was curious about was if the 164 TB is a bolt-on fit. I can get one for about $50 complete with tps. Then you wouldn't even have to build the adaptor plate for the tps (not that it s...

Throttlebody/TPS

Hi! I've started planning my upcoming megasquirt-installation. Since I will need a proper TPS I wonder which one that would be easiest to use? I think I read somewhere that the complete throttlebody incl. tps from a 12v 164 will fit the GTV6 bolt-on. Is there any point in using a TB from a 164S (QV)...

Mats: Yes I use a narrowband lambda. I know it's not that accurate but should give you a hint on air/fuel mixture..... My meter is showing 0.8V most of the time under all types of different driving. ar4me: Hmmm, think I'll stick to the original low-impedance injectors to start with. Where do I get t...

Newbie to GoTech

Hi all! I recently converted my GTV6 to a 3.0 Milano engine. It runs great even though I'm still running the 2.5 injection. Have done some lambda measurements and it seems according to the meter that it runs quite rich most of the time. Wonder if that really is true?? Anyway, I'm thinking of getting...

Billy, Tonight I started with a testdrive and since it was running ugly I killed it without letting it idle. After removing the sparkplugs I saw that the plug in cyl. 3 was wet while the others looked OK. Checked the wet one for spark, and spark there was. Decided to swap the rail and almost went ma...

After checking ignition timing with a stroblight we corrected it a bit. Now it runs a lot better and on all cylinders. At least on idle. When I took it for a testdrive it kind of bogs when I open the throttle and feel powerless. Once in a while during acceleration I can hear and feel it revving like...

Thanks for your replies, guys.... Today I moved the ground wires (which are actually two ring terminals where one has 3 wires and the other has 2) from the AAV to the original 3.0 bolt on the valve cover. No improvement. I can now definately tell for sure that no cylinder on the right bank fires. If...

Hmmm, the ground wires on the passenger side are connected to the AAV. I run 2.5 l-jetronic.
On the 3.0 engine when I got it, there were 2 cut-off ring terminals with each 3 wires hanging on a the bolt at the back of the valvecover.

3.0 problems

Hi! I've just installed a 3.0 engine coming from a 75/Milano in my GTV6. Tonight was the night for the first testdrive. Just had to install the exhaust manifolds and were then set to go.....I thought! It seems like the engine only fires on the left bank. I've got spark on the right side but no actio...

Thanks for your replies!

I'll have to dig in a bit on Gotech. Seems reasonably priced.

If I would be happy with a 2.5 ecu modified to 3.0 specs where do I turn to find one?

Greg, aren't you about to publish some info on modifying l-jetronic ecu's?
Thought I read something about that....

Readymade megasquirt?

Hi all! I've just installed a 3.0l engine in my GTV6. Since I don't have the 75 harness/ecu i'm thinking of using megasquirt. Can I buy a megasquirt-box readymade with l-jetronic connector somewhere? I'm not that into the idea of me soldering it together... Another option would be a modified 2.5 Ecu...

I'm about to install a 75 3.0-engine in my GTV6 and I definitely want to keep my hydraulic de-tensioner after everything I've read about the mechanical one. The 3.0-engine is now equipped with the mechanical and therefor it's already plugged. How much grease is supposed to be used to fill the hydrau...
