I just bought a new MSI on V2.2 for trial use for $157. I'm pretty sure I'll have to add a fly back board and make a stim, just in case. I hope this forum still has those old wiring diagrams for the DB37 to L-Jet sitting around somewhere.... :? I ran the V2.2 without the flyback for quite a while w...

Thanks Peter you're a great help. How many load and rpm points are there? Scott Depends which chip and code you're running. Base MS-I is 8x8, MS-I with Extra is 12x12. MS-II is 12x12. More than you need. There's also interpolation between points. That means that it calculates the VE per the closes ...

Thanks Peter I really appreciate it. The installation doesn't sound too painful, and tuning shouldn't be too bad once I get the hang of it. It comes with a stim so that's good, and an IAT sensor(to do without the AFM I guess) It's probably a stupid question, but what does VE stand for? I think I kn...

Is this a street car or the EP car? I'm going to assume a street car since you're worried about warm up and all that. I'm a little confused here. Why are you running new wires through the firewall instead of using the stock harness? If this is a street car why are you bothering to retain the AFM? (I...

Kevin no I'm not using the CSI,in fact I pulled it out and made an aluminum blocking plate to close off the plenum hole>I don't miss it  Obviously the CSI is not needed. The priming pulse, cranking pulse and WUE take care of that function with a lot more accuracy. You should be able to get...

Re: SH Megasquirt questions
Hi guys I am looking at a second hand MS setup. Most of you have probably seen the ad but here it is again: I have a fully built and functional MegaSquirt. It is mounted in a Bosch L-Jetronic case which makes it perfect for L-Jet cars. It also has the flyback board installed in the case for L-Jet l...

Re: o2 sensors and wideband?
i have just bought a MSII for my gtv-6. i was wondering whether it is recommended to run 2 o2 sensors, one for each bank, or if its not worth the hassle and a single one is sufficient? if 2 is recommended, can i simply put a switch between the two and select which sensor i use? i have also been loo...

So I take it that the L jet deals with shutting the fpump down in a shunt by way of a closed AFM flap? (what if the afm flap is tuck open though?), surely thats why the inertia switch is a secondary? my 83 still has an inertia switch wired in, I have never tried activating it, to see if it works th...

Kevin don't worry it's not supposed to come on with your configuration, only applies to PWM (pulse width modulated) idle valve etc. You'll be using the AAV (aux.air valve) which is mounted on the passenger-side valve cover and operates independantly of MS. FIdle should still come on. If it's set as a...

Dino I suggest you go with MSII and use the ignition control. It gives you a lot of flexibilty and the performance increase over the L-Jet ignition is worthwhile. Steve Rosser has a similar set-up to yours - 3.0L with headers so his MAPs which I believe are posted on this site will be a good startin...

Doing the fuel pump mod for a street car is a better idea than hot-wiring the pump to the ignition. The fuel pump starts when it senses RPM (and during the priming pulse) for safety reasons. If you were to crash the car and the engine stalled, the fuel pump would shut off so it won't spray fuel eve...

Not to burst anyones bubble... I didn't do any before runs on my 3.0 pre MS installation but the stock specs are 189hp at the flywheel from the factory. After installing the MS and removing the AFM with stock cams and some porting I got 217hp at the rear wheels which is about 250hp at the flywheel. ...

There are a number of MS users in Europe running LPG. Check the success stories on www.msefi.com. You need propane injectors and feed lines. I could be wrong but I think LPG runs from the tank pressure and does not need a fuel pump. It also does some kind of heating to atomize the fuel prior to inje...
