Thanks to everyone for the feedback! What about the bonnet/hood instead? Similar pros/cons? Or is it safer?

Thanks

Re: Fiberglass bonnet and hatch

i would agree, the glass would be to heavy. if you had a fibre glass hatch you would need to use a lexan or plastic rear window to keep the weight down. They claim half the weight of the original one. Here you can see the hatch and other parts: http://highwoodalfa.com/bob2/7784b8c0-56dd-49f8-8f5d-f...

Why? Please elaborate 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)
Can't one simply use the seals of the original hatch?

Fiberglass bonnet and hatch

Dear friends, I've been given a fairly good price quote for a new fiberglass bonnet and hatch for my GTV6. Can someone in the know tell me pros/cons of such conversion? Rust-free & reduction of weight are certainly pro's. What about cons? Is fiberglass hard to paint? Easy to scratch afterwards? ...

Re: GTV6 steering wheel compatibility

I don't mean to rain on anyone's parade, but it was my understanding that the OE GTV-6 steering wheels that look like wood were actually some sort of synthetic or composite. Don't know if that's true or not, but I remember a thread about it on the Alfa Digest years ago. Charlie Koster San Gabriel, ...

GTV6 steering wheel compatibility

Dear friends, knowing that I'm going to sell my GTV6 wood steering wheel, a friend has asked me whether this might be compatible with a '91 Spider or not. From a recent experience I know this kind of knowledge is rare (bought a (wrong) 75 steering wheel hub because someone suggested this was compati...

Re: GTV6 steering wheel HUB

Does anybody know if an Alfa Romeo 33 hub can fit into an Alfetta GT/GTV/GTV6?
Here's a pic:

GTV6 steering wheel HUB

Dear friends, after having purchased - uncautiously - an aftermarket steering wheel equipped with a Milano/75 hub (some Alfisti told me they were identical!!!) now I'm looking for the right hub for my GTV6. I've found one which is claimed to fit all Alfetta GT's from 1980 on. Is it the same hub? My ...

Hey Lucio, Are you from Sardegna? With a 33 16V a while ago? Anyway, look at the new Dunlop Z1, not the Direzza DZ101. That is supposedly to be one of the best out there at a relatively low price. Yes, I'm the guy :D :D :D :D :D First 33 16V, then Coupé Turbo 20V, now GTV6. Couldn't stay away from ...

For what you are all saying, I can use them on my GTV6 since it has a top speed of 220 Km/h. But I have doubts about using them in my E36 M3 that I usually drive at over 240 Km/h and for long periods at the highways. Any failure in a tire could be fatal. That has nothing to do with the tire brand, ...

The CF1 was tested in this year ADAC magazine and got second last (from 19 tires) before Wanli. Bad on wet and high wear they say.
Not my experience.

Re: Toyo tires

Does anyone used Toyo tires in your cars? Here in my country they cost half the prize of any other top tire marque. Are this good tires or not? I currently use Toyo Proxes CF1 on my GTV6. Very good quality/price ratio, cool looks and good all-rounders. In my previous car used their top of the line,...

V6 engine value

Fellow GTV6ers, I'd like to get an idea of the (mean) retail value of a second-hand GTV6 engine. I have one but my mechanic refuses to use it as a parts donor, since he prefers to use new parts and restore my V6 from scratch (you may have seen pics of the restored V6 here on the forum). This means I...
