1985 Alfa Romeo GTV6 3.0 Homologation FIA Group One
WELL YET ANOTHER HAS COME OUT OF HIDING - This car is extremely RARE due to a limited production and totally UNIQUE in terms of her engineering! She represents one of those few motor cars that became a legend, and a South African national icon virtually from launch date! The ALFA ROMEO GTV6 3.0 Litr...

WANTED - GTV6 interior door handle surrounds
The thin black plastic rectangular surrounds with 4 locating clips which fix the interior door lining panel to the handle mechanism. The locating clips usually break the first time you remove them. If anyone has them for sale, or knows where there are some, I'll want at least 10 of them! Rich Birmin...

Re: 1983 KILLARNEY 3-HOUR
Hi Gents. As the new and proud owner of a 1984 GTV6 3.0 (bought from Dawie who has just re-built the motor to exact Group 1 Specs for me), it's great to read about the race history of this car. In my opinion racing was the very reason for its existence and should rightfully take pride of place. My ...

Re: Nico Bianco
Thanks Maurizio - I'm happy your memory is good.
Would it be ok if I asked you a few more, as they come up in the history of these cars I'm helping with, please?
Tom
I'd also appreciate seeing the photos you mentioned, if you don't mind me asking?

Re: Nico Bianco
Thanks for this information Maurizio. May I ask you a few more please? In the 1983 Kyalami 1000k race, You won your class (Group 1 - Touring), 16th overall, sharing with Dick Pickering, and were entered by ARSA. The other ARSA car, driven by Arnold Chatz and Eric Saunders retired due to an accident....

Re: Nico Bianco
Maurizio - It's a real pleasure to see you on here. I've been trying to piece together the race history of the 3 litre Autodelta GTV6 cars, since importing one to England from SA earlier this year. Is there a book, or magazines you could suggest, please? I'll be seeing Derek Bell next month, and won...

Re: Kevin GTV's and other Alfa's
One more thing Kevin - What spark plugs do you use in your 3 litre GTV6 cars? Previously I always used Golden Lodge 2HL plugs in my 2.5 cars, but this 3 litre arrived with NKG R BPR6EY plugs. I don't have any Lodge plugs on hand, and they seem difficult to get hold of now - I think they are now part...

Re: Kevin GTV's and other Alfa's
Hi Kevin, and the other enthusiasts on here. No way can I compete withn your knowledge or wonderful collection of Alfas, but I'm doing my bit here in the UK to educate Alfa Club members in England. My SA GTV6 3.0 is really great and makes the perfect foil to my 3.2 Brera. I must argue with your opin...

Re: Old England Alfisti
Thanks for your kind words - and I definitely qualify as a veteran, rather than a 'youngster'. My GTV6 is all ready to go now, apart from waiting for our Custome & Excise people to send me the signed off customs release form - needed in order to license the car for road use. Various people have ...

Re: Old England Alfisti
Welcome , dont mind me asking who you are buying it from as I used to run the South African GTV 3.0 register. Good 3.0 zero carbi's are the most fun to drive with that sound even double the fun of a wild 3.7 24v. The low down grunt with the short box make it alot of fun but way to under geared for ...

Here's my recently purchased GTV6. It should be with me in the UK before the end of July.

Old England Alfisti
New to this BB, but very old to Alfas - having owned nothing but them for the past 30 years. GTV6 remains my favourite of all time, and I'm in the process of buying a 3 litre version from South Africa. Photos are from the 1990s, when I raced a '6' in the Alfa Championship. cp030592.JPG cc110993.JPG ...
