Re: Building a bulletproof transaxle (460NM 355Hp)
Here the old research: Some testing the to see how much better the new flange is. So the first test is the old flange and a torque of 320n/m a bit more than the standard toque but the number is very conservative i think. Beqause shock loads will be much higher i guess. The test facility: https://mya...

Building a bulletproof transaxle (460NM 355Hp)
Hello all, I get some questions about my transaxle and since I am not planning milling the billet 6082 aluminium intermediate flange I thought I'll help you guys out. Here's how i built my transaxle on the supercharged 75. I did some trackday with it and one or 2 drift days. Never had a failure on t...

It's not the same material. It is 34ChrNiMo6 steel which we use in our University race cars. How ever spring charecteristics are about the same. It should give about 150 percent increase in spring stiffness.

Re: Building the supercharger to the engine (75 3.0V6)
With the new spring setup the car feels and drives like a modern car .Body rol is reduced a lot. Also nose diving while is braking a lot better.
Haven't drove it on the limmet yet but in fast corners it feels good. So happy the slopyness is gone!

Re: Supercharged 3.0 24V
Why not use something like a tvs of Eaton? Sprintex also has more compact units I thought. These models are also very efficient at max rpm. Then you have torque everywhere. The older M units where only efficient in mid and low down rpm unless ported. If you are worried about transaxle strength at lo...

They are already in the car. Let's see how they drive. Have to wait till March.. the car is suspended.

Re: Building the supercharger to the engine (75 3.0V6)
In the proces of making new 25.4mm torsion bars. Hope it loses the cruise ship like drive. This should be nice for a street application. The material is 12ChroNiMo6. We also use this in our university racecars. Stiffness is about the same. This increase in diametre should give a 150 % stiffer spring...

Re: Building the supercharger to the engine (75 3.0V6)
This is a donut from a bmw 123D wich has 400Nm of torque and also has the box upfront. So torque through the donut won't be an issue. It's from our trackday tool. You can see i removed one washer. The bmw donut has a pitch diamter of 110mm which is the same as our v6 big pich diameter. But the small...

Re: Building the supercharger to the engine (75 3.0V6)
Thanks again for the pics! My front donut lasted about 10.000km. Not bad I think. About 6 track days and one drift day. I made a cage before but the slots weren't wide enough for my torque figure so it rattled under max power.. I ditched it. Let's see how quick the new donuts fail and if it 8s to qu...
