Re: What Clarkson said about the gtv6...arrrgh.

Re: Vibration after propshaft overhaul - (hanger bearing?)

have you checked the bump stop at the front of the gearbox. sounds like a common problem, you need to try and adjust until there is just 1 or 2 mm clearance, so when the engine torques up it juuuuuuust touches it. have seen this a few times as this part is often overlooked or forgotten when overhaul...

Re: Plenum Pop - What are the chances?

i understand what you are saying greg and completely agree. however im nost cases our over 20 year old cars and bang for time/buck value, are better spent fixing more major issues, therefore , imo id say most cars have some slight leak or crack in that area of hoses. youd actually be hard pressed fi...

Re: Plenum Pop - What are the chances?

on these v6s pressing the throttle while cranking the car is a sure fire way to blowing the plenum off. it is very very common. i have found disconnecting the fuel vapour lines to the intake helps, but this is more of a case when hot starting. apart from looking at differnt things id say you have 2 ...

Re: Rear Motor Mount

im pretty sure that standard from the factory the engines lean a little to one side in the bay. if your front mounts are fine replacing the rear wont really make too much of a difference if its replaced. by all means if it is broken it must be replaced, but otherwise i wouldnt be too concerned.

Re: What's this for

ye im pretty sure that wat it is for. unusual though that all the v6's i have seen in australia dont have that little return nipple like yours, except for the later 164s ofcourse. ye looks like someone dipped that engine bay in some wax. even all the hoses and belts look imac. :D

Re: What's this for

looks like a drain back to the bottom of the sump for excess oil.havent seen one in that style before howevr the 164 style ones have the same thing.if your engine doesnt have a nipple for it to attach back to around the sump area or near the distributer, just block it off.

Re: Adaptronic...? Dizzy? Adaptronic to the rescue!!

the model ford is the ford falcon. a very poplular car down here and because of that fact can buy thermostats in all different heat ranges. i just choose the coolest they had which was a 75 degree i think at the time. but like i said a very easy and simple conversion indeed. and cheap to boot. so ch...

Re: Adaptronic...? Dizzy? Adaptronic to the rescue!!

in regards to the thermostat you couldve just machined out the internals to a little larger bore cant rememebr the size exactly and fit a common 18 dollar ford item. thats wat i do on all my cars. i could find a pic for you if you like but its an easy conversion. basically you gut out the thermostat...
