Re: Sealed beams 1984 GTV6

I was able to install GE 4000 for the low beams ( I read somewhere that also H5006 will work), and GE5001 for hight beams. This is for the GTV6 american edition. The sealed beams fit nicely into the brackets.

Sealed beams 1984 GTV6

One of my headlight burned out this week. It is a sealed beam unit, am I going to have problems finding the replacement light ? I hear lots of people talking about the headlight upgrade kits. Is there a way to avoid it, for now I would prefer to get the sealed beam unit to minimize the cost. I was l...

Here is me again, the summer is over ...

Sad to mention summer is almost over here and I will have to place the GTV6 (1984) into the storage. I did not have too much chance to drive it this summer :( We have replaced a clutch assembly. I think I mentioned in the previous posts that we adjusted the shifter such that shifting became very smo...

GTV6 2.5 1986 Clutch Problems

Here is my latest update  . I bought a clutch assembly from International Auto Parts we installed it, some small problems but we got it working. It felt not too bad for first 2 days or so, then squeaking noises where heard when I was accelerating and the clutch was about 20% in. At first fricti...

I hope this is nothing big, I just spent big chunk of money to get the clutch replaced. It is hard to say where the sound is coming from. It is a bit dissapointing. I noticed some noise (vibration), when the clutch is fully pressed in and the engine is in gear (1) and running.

Today I drove my car again, did not grind at all. Well I do always place the stick in the second before shifting to first and fifth before shifting to reverse, but there is something else that bothers me, and it is hard to explain. When I shift to the second gear and accelerate, there is a fraction ...

Thank you this definately, helped. I picked the car up last night, it run very well, the gears 1,2,3,4,5, r were smooth. The clutch pedal was a bit higher away from the floor than I am used too. Interesting enough the grinding that I was experiencing with old clutch from 1 to 2, did not happen eithe...

All that work is being done by my friend who is a mechanic. He told me that he followed the instructions on how to do it properly. Maybe I can get him online to describe it. One thing he asked me though how do you adjust "pivot point" ? I think he was refering to this statement " rese...

New Clutch Assembly Install -- Reverse Grinding

We have installed new clutch assembly, when placing the car in reverse it makes a terrible grinding sound. It did not do that with an old clutch. I took the gtv6 for a ride, 1,2,3 gears go in as with an old clutch, maybe even better. I get some grinding (not often) when shifting from neutral into 1 ...

Clutch Assembly, which one to pick ...

I found these two clutch assemblies, I belive kit and assembly is the same thing. One of them is bit cheaper .... I have no idea if I should go with the one which is cheaper, or there is a difference with the maker, and I should pay abit more to make sure it works with my Alfa GTV6 1984. Can you hel...
