i have no idea how the previous drivers used the car.... i guess i have a bit of mechanical sympathy due to driving australian built cars (ie don't rev them hard without expecting to break them).
thats good to hear that some of you get high revs. it sounds better the higher it goes.

How high do you rev?
Since my 2ltr 4 is 23 years old, i'm a bit hesitant about revving it hard. i try to keep it to hwy speeds when gear changing. 100km is about 3,000 rpm, so i change at 3000 for each gear.
Is the alfa romeo engine designed for high revs and how high do you rev yours?

i also agree the brake fluid should help. another alternative is Mr Muscle Extra Heavy Duty Oven Cleaner (with the warning-caustic label). get the caustic versions, as the 'non-caustic' don't do squat. i use it to strip paint of 1/24 scale model cars like shortlife does with brake fluid. Hey shortli...

replacement headlights
reading about the lack of relay in the headlights, reminded me that my 23 year old headlights are poor (highbeams are worse than low beam on my new ford). Any new world replacements you can recommend other than NOS? (new old stock)

how do i disassemble the mirrors? the electrics only move it left/right, not up/down, on the driver's side only.

dont forget nascars dont run on petrol (they run on methanol). When unleaded came out there was rumors that it would quickly destroy a vehicle not designed for it. it runs a little hotter, but basically it's ok, and you can add a supplement to your fuel if it get too hot. Similar story with ethanol....

Hi, i'm Kev, from southern NSW australia. i live in the cold part of country of australia (ie we get a bit of snow in winter). i just bought my first Alfa, so i'd thought i'd find some like minded people. its a 85 GTV 2.0 that i saw on ebay in VGC. i've only had the drive home with her and for a twe...
