I replaced my 83 front mounts with good second hand genuine 75 mounts. On the genuine ones the thicker base plate is made up of 2 thicknesses of steel spot welded together. Drill the spot welds, remove one layer and you have mounts identical to the GTV6. Check with your supplier how their base plate...

I have talked to Vin at Pace and to Benincas. They can get pistons made for me but they have a lead time of over two months so I thought that other sources might be quicker and just as good quality.

Vick Autosports got back to me very promptly which was pretty impressive. They use 10.1 89mm pistons in their race car but I have to use 88mm pistons which they don't have.

Anyone got any other sources for these items.

I looked at their website. Their catalogue doesn't list any high comp pistons for the 2.5 but I have sent them an email anyway. Any other suppliers? Or would some of those motorbike pistons everyone talks about be suitable?

2.5 Litre Pistons

I am building a 2.5 litre full house performance motor for motorsport. I want to fit high compression pistons but the motor must run on pump fuel (98 ron)as this will be a rally car. What compression should the pistons be? What is the best brand of pistons to use? Who sells them? What sort of horse ...

Hi Kevin. I like your idea. I'm a little concerned that cost may blow out with freight etc, but it would be much easier this way. If you can find a container and throw in a set of door / panel mouldings (SA cars have diferent ones as you no doubt know) into the costings and let me know I would appre...

Hi Kevin, Thanks for your valuable input. Is SA that dangerous or are you running drugs? We would much rather see you in Oz with your delightful collection and knowledge. Could you please post a shot of your red 3.0 front spoiler from front on so we can get a good look at what they look like? ...

Whoa! Those pics of Kevin & Esperan's cars are magnificient. 1138Kg. That's disappointing. The 2.5s are homologated at 1140kg and the article on this site says they were 6% lighter with a GRP bonnet and no air con or radio. That would make them around 1070kg. JimGreek mentioned 1000 kg. I desper...

Built the first batch and counted them a few times. Good idea. Was that 1983?How many were they supposed to build first up? Did they build them to special order after that until 1985? 8" wide wheels. Thats pretty wide for then, pretty wide for Alfas even now! That will be handy. I'm glad it was...

SOUTH AFRICAN 3.0 REPLICA

Hi Guys. Being heavily into bitumen and dirt rallying I want to build the fastest GTV6 I can. But regulations for motorsport are pretty tight and the best way to build the fastest GTV6 is to start with the fastest one manufactered, the South African 3.0 litre. I am aware there is an article on this ...
