my new toy
Hello, my name is Mark and i've returned to the GTV6 fold. I purchased the car in May last year, a standard 2.5ltr, black, series 1 car with the interior upgraded to recaro spec from UK based GTV6 specialist Alex Jupe http://www.alexjupemotorsport.co.uk/ . Since then, we have completed the first two stages of a planned process of improvements to the car. With the fitting of the brilliant Nurburgring developed RS suspension kit and a Brembo big brake set up with the necessarily bigger, 16", image split rims to accommodate the bigger discs . The car now handles and stops beautifully and is now ready for the next upgrade, a 3.0ltr from a 75 which will be fettled by Alex with some head work, high compression pistons and improved camshafts to push out around 210hp. Then comes the twin spark gear box, followed by a leather interior followed by the inevitable divorce from the wife when she finds out how much it's all cost.

Re: my new toy
Welcome to a great forum with that pretty car . I parked next to you at the brooklands day . The gold and black reminds me of the jPS colours .
Their seem to be quite a good interest in these GTV since I have been in UK which is great and they are all in such good condition with good modifications .
I found this other pic of your car which also made it into the AROC magazine I see .

Re: my new toy
thanks for the great picture, they look fantastic together in their contrasting colours. appreciate the JPS comment as i've always wanted to modify the car but at the same time keeping a period look. To which end Alex is trying desperatly to get me to paint a gold pin stripe along the flanks, i not so sure.

Re: my new toy
Mark ,I saw the engine bay of your car last week when I went to Goodwood ( went passed Alex workshop) . Its definitely the best colour detail engine bay I have seen . I think because its a black car it all looks so retro in the engine bay . Sounds really good as well . Did Alex send you any pics yet of the engine bay ?

Re: my new toy
Alex sent me pictures, but i've had problems trying to upload to this site. very frustrating. the engine looks absolutly fantastic out of the car and i can only imagine how good it looks in the car. if i can overcome the problems uploading the images, (is there a special secret known only to a few), i'll post all the pictures.
Re: my new toy
Mark I will send you an email for posting pics . I did take some pics of it in car but the flash messed it up . I did not want to post bad pics on such a pretty bay . Just edited this for the bad spelling .

Mark,
Love the car in detail.
Hate the tow ball at the rear. Fastest way of killing these transmissions is to tow stuff around.

MD. you will be pleased to know the tow bar is nolonger on the car. the tow bar was in place when i bought the car and has never been used by me. the car certainly looks a lot better without it. Kevin, we got the new back box on and the car sounds very meaty now. Alex also found and rectified the prop shaft fouling problem. it was chaffing the clutch fluid pipe which had worked itself lose from the retaining clip. problem now solved, happy days. i'll be retorquing the head this weekend having done 600 miles since i picked the car up on wednesday.
