calling the race clutch pioneers etc: can the individual friction pads be moved more towards the center of these clutch discs and then the excess removed?

so does anyone know if the 164 manual trans has a push type pressure plate or a pull? still trying to visualize that enormous bell housing under the car...

If its only a 5mm diameter difference, I'd have the thing machined down. its only 2.5mm off of each clutch pad.
However theres always a chance you won't need to trim it and it will clear the 164 pressure plate setup.
Thanks for the advice Ben. My project is moving slowly until i find the right motor. My Z trans is sitting pretty in the garage. i just ordered a 3rd gear syncro and sometime this week I will get the diff ordered (probarbly looking at 50-80 lockup). I have spoken with the flywheel guy on ebay and he says he'll make me one but I need to get my motor and trans to go on a date or something... bc I need to figure the kids are gonna look like. Not quite sure if it is going to be a 164 sized clutch or a Z ...

Custom flywheel is the hard way to do it, although it would let you get the flywheel very light.
I'd use the 300z disc with a 164 flywheel/clutch
The smaller diameter clutch reduces rotating mass remember
does anyone out there have a cad file or blueprint on the alfa 3l 24v? i need to get a trans adaptor machined to mate the 350z gearbox. i am not up for shipping motor and transmision all over the place... i guess if this doesnt work plywood template of the motor bolt up and trans bell housing will have to do... any suggestions?

Just went down stairs and checked for you
164 and GTV6 ring gears are the same - well a 3.0 24v 164 is the same as a 2.5 12v GTV6, so assume the 3.0 12v 164 is the same as well
