Oil/Water Lines

Post by GarthW »

Hi all, can anyone tell me best way to tap an oil return line into the block?

Do i just drill and tap the hole, then screw in banjo bolt, or is there another way?

I'm working on a 2.5 V6, single turbo, but unsure on the best way to plumb in the oil lines for the turbo, and the return line into the block.

Do i get oil pressure from the oil pressure switch area?

And where is best spot to plumb in a water line for turbo?

Thanks for any help!!

If I were to do it: To run oil from the car to the turbo, put a sandwich plate in to remote mount the oil filter and put a T in the lines to run to the turbo (otherwise you could put the T in the line for the mechanical oil pressure gauge...assuming it is mechanical, I haven't actually looked), then drill and weld a barb into the side of the oil pan for the oil return. But, I'm sure mats or barry will chime in and point out a better way. :D

On the Callaway cars it goes back into the oil pan. The diagram and explanation is in the Callaway manual.

On the 75 T the oil feed to the turbo is from the oil pressure switch location, a banjo is used and obviously works well, drains back into sump above oil level.

Water is from the rear plug in the main gallery and is Teed back into the heater circuit (i.e. other side of the engine, pressure diff.).

I get this problem sometimes. I save the file to my computer and open it manually after opening acrobat. No problem with this as I usually want to save the info anyway.

I got it from my friends pc, thanks nik.
Its funny reading the specs on it, it only made 25nm more than
the stock V6. And HP only 70-74. Or something llike that. I know only 10psi and with standard inj but not much in the NM department...

This car has a very flat torque curve which is what you want for a daily driver and also the ignition curve is VERY conservative...
