Buy the alfa v6 book from Jim Kartalamakis and enter a world of knowledge about these engines...
Drive it like you stole it...

Agree with Giuli Evo's advice. Jim K has a lot of info on cam profiles which is suitable for your engine. He knows a good place which can regrind your cams too. Although I would recommend that your compression be increased to about 10.5:1 and heads ported or at least cleaned for the cams to show their worth.
When he comes from his extended getaway with his hot blonde mistress , ask him about the cams.

i have v6 high performance manual
how can i know if the heads were lowered alredy by the previous owner ?
I have 24v intake runners can i use them with 24v adapter plates ( oval intake holes on the side facing head )
For porting head is this simple work ? ( i have expiriance with 2stroke cilinders only )

Just use the ported 75 runners and modify the 75 plenum chamber to suit.smukc wrote:i have v6 high performance manual

Well ported the inlet ports will be about 85% of the valve diameter so about 37.5mm.
Having inlet runners that are larger than the ports is basically pointless, so opening the 75 runners up to match the ported ports is all that is needed.
Any adapters would cause excessive turbulence and restrict flow.
And head porting is a crap job................
Even with all the tools you need to do a decent job of it, it's a crap job.
Re: v6 3.0 12v rebulid and mild tuning
i dont have 75 plenum and intake runners i have only 164 12v and 24v intake runners and plenums.
Is the original ecu ok or should i replace it ?

You're not coming to the alfa spettacolo in the Netherlands next weekend by any chance?
I would be happy to donate you a 75 inlet and runners then.
The 164 12v stuff can be used as well. Just needs the throttlebody repositioned so it clears the bulkhead. The curve from an alfa 75 TS intake works quite well.

Re: v6 3.0 12v rebulid and mild tuning
i have 164 modified plenum to fit in 75 and runners are 38mm so it would perfectly fit ported head
Giuliettaevo2 thx for the offer i am from Slovenia and none of my alfas are working so i am not coming to alfa spettacolo in the Netherlands

Re: v6 3.0 12v rebulid and mild tuning
Unless you have some how implimented the 24v engine management system and can have it tuned to suit your engines wants and needs, go for a decent quality programmable computer. The 12v version of the Motronic is just too compromised in how it did what it was supposed to do.smukc wrote:i dont have 75 plenum and intake runners i have only 164 12v and 24v intake runners and plenums.

Thats a sad discovery smukc. I hope you can locate a new crank without too much difficulty. Good luck
Re: v6 3.0 12v rebulid and mild tuning
How about regrind ? is it true that it is nitrated deep enaought to grind it seafely on -0.10 ?
Re: v6 3.0 12v rebulid and mild tuning
I see you can get bearings in a 0.25mm smaller diameter so i guess it is oke.

If in doubt you can get it re-nitrided and ground. Most competent machine shops will know the process. Usually ground close to require size, then nitrided then back for final grinding to accurate. Not cheap but may be worth it.
