Timing Belt Question (not the usual)

Post by mcandiago »

After a successfully laborious effort of replacing the head gaskets to get rid of those weeping water leaks I found that my water pump leaked immediately after the replacement of the timing belt.

I know I disobeyed the golden rule of replacing the water pump, but my question is this.

Should the newly installed timing belt be replaced when I replace the water pump?

I have about 60 km on it.

Marco

P.S. The good news is that the hydroylic tensioner is not leaking....Yet!

MD,

thanks for the heads up!

P.S.

Will keep everyone posted on my tensioner rebuild. I'm kinda curious to see how long it will last.
