New Carpet

Hello,

I just sent an email to Tru-fit carpets for a price indication on this. I noticed that they advertised 1 piece carpets rather than the 2 piece that was discussed on this topic. Has anyone actually received a one piece capet and does it have the correct fool rests on the drivers side & passagner side? Finally, were you happy with the product?

I am bring the Alfa to the shop for the an estimate on new seats being done again and I guess they would also be able to put in new carpets. I was hoping to do the carpets myself to save some $ if it is not too complicated a job.

Thanks for any input.

For the GTV6, it is a two piece. I sent Tru-fit three emails regarding small samples and have not heard back. That was about a month ago.......I asked about cut-outs and how much extra carpet is at the edges, too..

It does not sit well with me when a company can't return emails in a timely manner....imagine trying to return a carpet..

Someone down under may have better luck.....maybe act as a middleman??

If not, I will find a local company and have one steam fit...

OK, got good news email from TruFit....

For LEFT hand drive:

"Arlene has left the Company and we are a bit snowed under at present, particularly in regard to emails. Sorry this reply has been so long coming.
We can mould up the Alfa carpet but as you are already aware, it doesn't allow for the left foot rest. The steering column can be left uncut as desired. We leave plenty of excess around the edges which has to be trimmed to requirement during installation. The back of the carpet is the standard polyethylene plastic which, when heated, softens and allows the carpet to be moulded. The carpet does not have the black sealing that I've seen on Alfa factory carpets.
One more thing. Arlene quoted around AU$75 for freight. It could be a bit more than that. With individual shipments overseas, we never quite know the freight costs until we take the parcel to the Post-office and they weigh and measure it and calculate inland freight costs at the receiving end.
Hope the above is helpful and we hear from you soon."

I still asked for two sample pieces of the plush and regular plush.....

Let me know, I am not sure how I will do the carpet. My associate knows a place in Walnut Creek, CA that is alot closer than Los Angeles so I my use them. Not so sure about this company since they still did not call me.
