What a great thread.
I am still digesting Michael's dyno graphs though. I can't get over the quantity of torque the 3.0 puts out at low revs. That's just very respectable. Puts my daily-driver WRX to shame.

Great Job Daniel. Y'know: the cost of machining a batch of those wouldn't be so bad if you can find some HMC/CNC Lathe time. And a machinist who will run the parts. The couple of hours you may have spent on proto #1 could translate into 15mins/part for a batch of 20 ( rough est only). Just a thought.

The later iso shift is a really nice shift if it has good bushings throughout. I have an 85 GTV6 --> old style non-iso. Mine is v good though, as I have rebushed the shifter - rod bushing. Something worthwhile that I have done to a few Milanos/75s and GTV6s is to rebush the front shift rod-end using...

went thru and verifyed all elec plugs cleaned then and used dielectric grease on all connections as well as grounds.. I know it may seem obvious, but you might want to verify that you used the dielectric grease correctly. It's not a conductor. It will do a great job of stopping current flow. Should...

Sam, the Bike Farmer. Seriously, you should see his pasture....full of contented, grazing bikes. Me: '04 WRX (it's like driving an explosion) alloy-carbon racing bike (no engine-type machine) 6 month old daughter (toy?? oh well, close enough) Wife's '98 VW Passat (for all my maintenance needs) SamW'...

Barry, if you make the hole straight, wouldn't it be easiest just to use a suitable ball joint together with some fastening mechanism? I'm far from expert here, but let me add this: VW/Audi use straight pin balljoints retained with pins (cotterpins?). Have a look in the VWForum's vendor lisring: ht...

It could work if you enlarge the eye and fork. Diameters and widths are different between old and new. Converting to iso is a great way to go. Can't recall where the brgs came from. I bought a large quantity and got an oem discount (thru work), as low qties are just v expensive. They're twin sealed ...

MD, I think that's a great approach. I see the transition from model to pipe being tricky - at least from where I am sitting. 'Course it could be done if you can find a really good muffler shop involved in custom design work. I guess that would not be a 'muffler shop'! In Atlanta, I know of only 3 s...

DaveH, I don't know what the 'AVV' and other settings are on the diagram you posted. Do you know if those are the key settings? Thanks! They are the key settings. Now what they mean? I have no clue what the translation is. Keep in mind that when you're in the 'run' position, the wire that always ha...

I am about to get into this with SamW's car, so I will follow this 1 closely. Here's my 1st thought: verify key switch operation. Do this by setting yr multimeter to ohms and probing the wiring coming off the switch. The Milano Starter .gif below shows how to do this. Your symptoms strongly indicate...
