Re: JK 24v 3liter ..at last!

I've got a 3.7.1 ECU from a 24valve GTV v6 sitting on my desk, but I kinda need it for my 24valver!

Re: Spring Rate to Damper Ratios???

Just to ensure we're on the same page - this is what Digressive damplers plot out like: http://www.949racing.com/server/Tein_Miata_Flex_dyno_fr_revalve.jpg I hope you're not suggesting you'd put something that's progressive on a car - jesus, I've ridden bikes with very basic fixed orifice dampers (g...

Re: Spring Rate to Damper Ratios???

Just going over your Numbers there Duk - you haven't been squaring the motion ratio in your calcs. The equivalent coil over rate of the torsion bar is actually 242lb/in according to that wheel rate and motion ratio. so slinging a 225lb spring on there is only 87lb/in extra at the tire (180lb/in tota...

Re: Spring Rate to Damper Ratios???

I would say that you have recieved some misinformation, i would agree if it was for a family saloon or a offroad vehicle where you would need as much wheel travel as possible combined with best possible comfort. But you will loose out in handling and steering sharpness. The more" eager" y...

Nope - Digressive is recognised as generally being better for most situations involving tarmac.

Re: GTV6 / 75 gearbox mounts

There's no anti dive/anti squat in the de-dion rearend because there's no torque being reacted by the de-dion beam - (well, there's a small amount of anti-squat from the front pivot being above ground level, but it's nothing like the live axle guys generate) Would be a different situation if it were...

Re: Spring Rate to Damper Ratios???

Hey Duk, give Heasmen's in Sydney a call, they're pretty much the Aussie Bilstein experts, they should be able to tell you... and post up what you find out. Bilstein's generic circle track shocks which are what I'm guessing you're looking at, come in both linear and digressive valving - digressive i...

Re: The Orange Cab -MD's New Racer

So, this morning I took some quick and dirty measurements of my 2l 105 front uprights, and Daniel sent me a cad model he'd created of the 116 upright, so by comparing them the upright heights are about the same give or take 5mm, but the 105 stub axle is closer to the bottom BJ by about 1/2".. h...
