It's ok - our new daily driver is a E61 530D - for a big heavy girl it shifts along pretty well...Mats wrote:Well it's RWD, from -05 and has a six cylinder 3 liter engine.

Re: Mats Strandberg (SWE)
Oh shit - haven't been on for a while, and have only just seen this - my condolences Mats! One of the Fiat guys here had something similar happen - the car he'd been driving and modifying for best part of 15years burnt to the ground (Except it was his fault, nearly took the house with it). He's move...

Re: Independent Dedion - Francia/Schlesser 75 Turbo
I struggled to figure how it was marketed as " four wheel steering " when it was up for sale and I had also seen a spec a while back about four wheel steering on this car . So after staring it for ages underneath I could only assume it has to do with the swivel bar that's mounted to old A...

Re: Independent Dedion - Francia/Schlesser 75 Turbo
Four wheel steering  The rear anti roll is connected through universals to the toe adjustment on hub . Been staring at this pics for the last couple of minutes trying to figure out what the hell is going on... I don't think it's 4 wheel steer - or adjusting the toe - I think it's using the l...

I'm very glad I can't visit Classic Alfa or Alfaholics in the flesh - my bank account would be very very sad...
Yeah - forgot to take my hat off before the first run of the day - was pretty sunny.

Re: 4 cyl flywheels - remind me?
Went digging into my stash last night, and also asked a bloke I know who has a few engines piled in a corner - Alfetta 1.8 is definitely 6 bolt like a 2l.
Case closed.

Re: 4 cyl flywheels - remind me?
Well given that you can transplant any crankshaft into any engine block of the Nord ilk*,it is extremely doubtful that Alfa would have changed the bolt patterns. Re-tooling is a costly business and so my best anticipation is that they are the same. * Dont expect the stroke to remain the same.. :rol...

Re: Our 1600 Junior restoration
Hey Kev - I've designed and built a few brackets to allow fitment of a 19mm porsche tandem dual circuit master to get rid of the shitty remote boosters - let me know if you're interested for this thing - cleans up the engine bay no end, and doesn't hang everything 8" off the side of the rail li...
