Check the wire plug and the circuit board for good contact. The rivets that hold the bulb carriers down and mate them with the circuit can also be loose/corroded. Chack also the grounds below the boot latch.

Good luck!

Petros.

oops sorry! I meant 146! They seem quite compact. The electric pump sounds great! But if you want to stick with the traditional setup, what's the story? So a daihatsu unit will work... good! What i don't know is what kind of pressure the pumps produce (gtv6, 75)and if the new ones (146, 156?) have r...

"Modern" Power Steering Pump.

I was wondering if anybody tried to replace the big and leaking power steering pump with a modern more reliable and compact one. Say from an 164. Apart from the mounting modifications needed... would it work with our steering racks? Any mods on the circuit?

Mine was also one-piece and I finally took out the angle grinder and cut the S$%t out of it! Bloody English weather! New bolt with anti-seize copper grease when refitting.

Yep! Good move! At last... we have 2 possible solutions to replace the dreadfully designed guibos in our cars. It surely deserves its own thread! Now, is Michael going to move the relative posts here? Or maybe repost the pics etc. The Bmw M5 donut "seems" quite robust. But it is not design...

Greg, is it possible to cure the rich mixture at low revs by fiddling with the fuel pressure reguator? I think I read in another topic (can't find it now) that the stock FPR, using the vacum system, is leaning out the mixture as the vacum increases. Is that correct? Or is it the other way around? Si...

The heat shield is mounted below the front section of the propshaft. If I remeber correctly the back edge of the shield is screwed ON the crossmember below the propshaft center bearing. Sorry I have no pics but it is a straigth forward job. Especially if the part is not bend it will easily fall into...

Hi Murray, As Greg says in the above quote you put the foam on the sides to prevent the air bypass the heater core. In order to get the hotest/coldest air, the air(!) has to pass from the aluminium fins of the core (logicall). That path is very restrictive though and quite a lot of the total amount ...
